What Stick Does Nathan MacKinnon Use?

Nathan MacKinnon has been a dominant force in the NHL for a long time now, and for most of that time he was loyal to the CCM Ribcor Trigger 3D. That was until the 2023-24 season when he did some soul searching in the stick department, he has used TEN DIFFERENT GRAPHICS since the beginning of the 2023 season. Within those 10 graphics he used a total of 3 different brands; CCM, Bauer, and Warrior. Lets not get ahead of ourselves however, the dawg spent a ton of time with the Trigger 3D including multiple different spec combinations within it. The most common of which is the 95 flex P71 you see here. These specs just make sense for a player like Nate Dawg, he’s an absolute horse standing in at 6’ 0 200 pounds so the 95 flex just makes sense, especially with how strong he is. The P71 is also an excellent choice of curve (although he switched to the P92 recently) as it allows for a pretty wicked toe curve to get the puck up in a hurry but it has a pretty closed blade face that allows for better control than a more standard toe curve like the P28. The P71 is a great option for anyone currently using the P88 or the P28, for P88 users it allows for an easy transition to a toe curve as it shares a lie/blade shape while also not being crazy open. While for P28 users it's a great alternative if you find yourself having a hard time keeping pucks down as it provides you with less loft/ a more closed face.
